Controversy continues from road to social media regarding the new scheme of army recruitment, Agneepath.

India’s big businessman Anand Mahindra has supported this plan by tweeting. After this, a debate has started between ex-servicemen and entrepreneurs on this recruitment scheme.

Responding to Anand Mahindra’s tweet, former Navy Chief and 1971 war hero Admiral Arun Prakash wrote, “Why wait for this scheme? Has the Mahindra Group so far contacted thousands of skilled-disciplined ex-servicemen who are in contact with each other? Retiring years and looking for a chance to make a second career? It would be nice to get such figures from your group.”

Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra, RPG Enterprise Chairman Harsh Goenka and Biocon Limited Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar Shaw have come out in support of the Agneepath Recruitment Scheme.

Anand Mahindra had tweeted on Monday, “Saddened by the violence over the Agneepath scheme. Last year when this plan was being considered, I had said and reiterated today that the discipline and skill that Agniveer will get is Will make them remarkably employable. Mahindra Group will provide job opportunities to such trained, capable youth with us.”

Responding to Anand Mahindra’s tweet, Harsh Goenka wrote, “RPG Group will also welcome firefighters for jobs. I hope other corporate companies also join us in this pledge and assure our youth for the future.” “

Quoting this tweet by Harsh Goenka, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw writes, “I am sure that Agniveers will be of great benefit in the process of getting jobs in the industrial job market.”

Ex-servicemen are raising questions

But on these proposals of industrialists, former army chiefs are raising questions and asking that every year thousands of soldiers retire, how many of them they have given jobs. Admiral Arun Prakash has asked Anand Mahindra why to wait for the firefighters, even now thousands of skilled and trained ex-servicemen will be found.

Former Air Vice Marshal Manmohan Bahadur tagged Anand Mahindra and wrote, “Anand Mahindra Sir, can we get the figures that the former Navy Chief asked for? I retired from service after 40 years hearing similar promises am.”

Twitter user Abhishek Kumar questioned Anand Mahindra’s tweet, “I have been an engineering seller of Navy and got relieved on 31st July 2017. I approached Mahindra Group for a good job but they did not respond to my application.” . Five years later I am still unemployed and now suddenly companies are ready to hire firefighters. What a joke…”

Colonel Salim Durrani writes, “Dear Mahindra ji, about 60 to 70 thousand fully trained jawans retire every year. If you permit to ask, how many of these are working with you? We will come to Agniveers later, When the time comes.”

Former colonel Ashok Kumar Singh tagged Mahindra and wrote, “Mahindra ji please learn something from American corporate. How they help their ex-servicemen and boost morale. You are just talking because this is what Modi told you to do.” Where is it?”

According to a news in the English newspaper The Telegraph, the latest data available with the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) till 30 June 2021 shows that there is a big difference between the seats reserved for ex-servicemen in government jobs and the actual recruitment. .

In Central government departments, 10 percent of Group C jobs and 20 percent of Group D jobs are reserved for ex-servicemen. However, they account for only 1.29 percent of the total jobs in Group C and 2.66 percent in Group D.

After heavy protests over the Agneepath scheme, last week the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Defense Ministry announced an additional 10% reservation for those who have served four years in the army under this scheme.

According to the data till 30 June 2021, the number of ex-servicemen in the country was 26 lakh 39 thousand 20. Of these, 22 lakh 93 thousand 378 have retired from the Army, 2 lakh 7 thousand 534 from the Air Force and 1 lakh 38 thousand 108 from the Navy.
