What if The Ajmer Files becomes a movie? If this truth comes out then what will happen in the country. Perhaps a bigger controversy may not arise than The Kashmir Files. People keeping the basket of Ziyarat at the dargah should not be compelled to think how one by one 100 Hindu girls of class 10th and 12th were made victims of rape. Girls too, not from any small fat house but girls from reputed families. This is not a legend, but a stigma saga of Ajmer Dargah in Rajasthan whose stains are not getting erased even after three decades.
Before starting this story we give a fictional name of Rani who was a Hindu girl. She studied in the famous Sophia Secondary School in Ajmer. Perhaps it was not even anticipated that the ambition of a gas cylinder would be blown on the way, if someone put a matchstick in it, then how many queens like her would get scorched by Rani.
Rani was the girl who also aspired to get a gas cylinder connection. Getting a domestic cylinder connection in the 90s was like achieving a big milestone. This was the time when people used to come with the recommendation of Minister, MP to get the gas number. In the hope of fame, this teenager, who was studying in 12th, met Congress Youth Wing District President Farooq Chishti and Deputy District President Naseem Chishti through a friend.
Important documents were exchanged and Rani felt that the destination was near. The gas connection will present an example of his accessibility. But she probably did not know that this one example would make her stand at the crossroads. She will prove to be a matchstick in that cylinder, in which hundreds of innocent girls of Sofia and Savitri school will get burnt.
One day while returning from school, Rani was given a lift by Nafees and Farooq in their Maruti van. Said to meet a big leader and also take a photo of the form on the gas connection. Rani convinced her that Nafees and Farooq took her to a farm house where she was raped and threatened to kill her. After that this cycle continued. Took some nude pictures of the queen, she was scared that if she opened her mouth, her photo would be printed in the newspaper.
Now a new game started from here, the queen was asked to call her other friend to the farmhouse. At the behest of the scared queen Chishti brothers, she kept bringing her friends and this game of bad luck continued. The rapists also took photographs of the rapes, as shame and blackmail were the most reliable guarantees of these victims’ silence. Actually there is a book called Dirty Picture. Which is written by Anuradha Marwah. Anuradha has written a black patch of Khadims of Ajmer’s famous Dargah in this book, the theme of the book is the story of Ajmer rape case.
That is, from 1990 to 1992, the game of Dirty Picture continued. With the respect of innocent girls, the Khadim of the dargah kept playing Chishti. The responsibilities were aware that such a dirty game is being played in Ajmer. Knew that the accused belonged to the influential, politically blessed pair of Farooq, Anwar and Nafees Chishti and their friends.
Gang is. Yet everyone was silent on the helplessness of the daughters of Ajmer! It became his pastime to entrap and gang-rape school girls in the web of threats and blackmail for months.
The hunt for Hindu girls was going on with the money of the Hindus who had offered them, Farooq Chishti, Nafees Chishti and Anwar Chishti, the family of these people was associated with the Khadims i.e. caretakers of the famous Dargah of Ajmer. is told. By doing one after the other, second after third, more than a hundred girls of Savitri School with Sofia were blackmailed and raped. Girls are all minor innocent girls studying in 10th, 12th. Surprisingly, among the raped girls were also the daughters of IAS, IPS.
Meaning these girls were not from any poor or middle class poor helpless homes, but girls coming from well-known houses of Ajmer. At that time there was no social media that any one girl would convey her words to anyone.
Reel-dulti nude photos were taken in the cameras and when this reel went to the studio to be washed, the studio also belonged to Chishti’s friend and Muslim community. The studio guy also took out the extra copy and he also started exploiting those innocent girls and getting them to do with his friends too
.
Means increased from two to three and in the end there were a total of 18 blackmailers, many times more than the rapists, among these people was the owner of the lab as well as the technician who developed the photos from the negative. These blackmailers used to rape themselves as well as oblige others close to them because all the girls were Hindu. Whoever felt like it, called a girl from school and erased the lust of himself and his friends.
Now the limit is reached, the girls started living in the atmosphere of fear and fear. He was suffocating from this life. Day by day the rapists were increasing, in the end, getting fed up, one girl after another started committing suicide, when many girls of the same school committed suicide, the matter started coming under suspicion.
It is said that this matter would have reached hundreds to thousands if a journalist had not raised his voice. If he had not caught one end, then I do not know where this fire would have reached. The name of the journalist is Santosh Gupta, then he used to work in the daily Navjyoti newspaper. Santosh had put this high-profile sex scandal in the public domain with the help of a person.
In fact, a reel developer named Purushottam presented a man named Devendra Jain a photo of the girls harassed with the rapists, calling them real goods. Jain sent the pictures to the newspaper. What was then, on 21 April 1992, Gupta wrote the first report on the Ajmer sex scandal. But the news did not show much effect. A few days later, on 15 May 1992, the second report was published. This time there were pictures of rape victims that would put any civilized society to shame. It contained pictures of the victim girls without clothes. In which his face was lightly blurred. In this picture there was a girl crying, sitting next to which two ruthless poor were smiling crookedly.
The news shocked the people of Ajmer, people felt the pain of that school girl, on seeing the city came on the road and due to the protest, Ajmer was kept closed on 18 May 1992.
It is said that at that time there were more than 350 newspapers and magazines in Ajmer and instead of supporting the victims of this sex scandal, many local media persons used to blackmail their families on the contrary. Leave the accused, in this whole matter there has hardly been any profession of the society, which has unanimously raised voice for these victims.
Finally, this news of Dainik Navjyoti alone paid off. In September 1992, the first charge sheet of 250 pages was filed. In which there were names of 128 eyewitnesses and 63 evidences. The District Sessions Court commenced the hearing on 28 September.
The police recognized the faces of thirty girls through photos and videos, they went and talked to them. Was asked to file a case. But many families refused in the name of slander in the society. Well, only twelve girls agreed to file the case, but the strength of the dargah was such that ten of these girls withdrew due to threats later. Only the remaining two girls took this case forward. When these girls recognized sixteen men, then eleven people were arrested by the police. These included Farooq Chishti, Moinulla alias Khutan Allahabadi, Parvez Ansari, Mahesh Ludhani, Syed Anwar Chishti, Shamshu Bhishti alias Maradona and Zahoor Chishti.
But the layers of the case were opened and the never ending series of hearings in the courts also started. The more complicated the legal process, the more painful it was for the aggrieved girls who had to come to testify on a date-to-date basis.
The matter which started from September reached till December but in Uttar Pradesh on 6th December 1992 Ram Bhakts demolished the Babri structure. A debate broke out across the country and communalism started spreading. So this matter started being hidden. But one of the 12 accused, Pushottam, who showed Jain the photo, committed suicide in 1994. In 1994, Naseem alias Tarzan was also arrested. Later Nafees Chishti, Iqbal Bhati, Salim Chishti, Sohail Gani, Syed Jamir Hussain were arrested. Eight suspects were sentenced to life imprisonment by the District Sessions Court in 1998, but four of them were released by the Rajasthan High Court in 2001. After this, in 2003, the Supreme Court reduced the sentence of the rest of the accused to 10 years.
That is, a division bench of Rajasthan High Court Judge Mohammad Rafiq acquitted Farooq Chishti on the basis of a certificate of insanity. Now the Rajasthan government reached the Supreme Court against the ten-year sentence, but Supreme Court Justice N. Santosh Hegde and Justice B. The bench of P. Singh felt that for so many rapes, a sentence of ten years was enough.
The relatives of Khadim of the dargah were absconding or were released on bail, one of the accused, Salim Nafees Chishti, was caught after nineteen years in 2012 but got bail, now there is no news about him, since then there is no news about this case. What happened to the rapists, where is Salim? Farooq’s mental condition is fine or not? And we are secular people, who remembers the news of twenty five thirty years old?
Means none of the Chishtis, the culprits of the Ajmer rape case, are in jail now. The rest you can keep adding, the punishment for one rape is seven years, then how much would be the punishment for a hundred rapes? Can a Hindi film be made on this, can any producer, director and other people who go there to seek vows, will they ask this question to Khwaja at Khwaja’s tomb that where were they when hundreds of girls were being looted by their own descendants? ? Whose offering was it and whose vow was being fulfilled?
While the lives of many of these girls were ruined in such a way that even the soul starts crying after hearing that if a girl becomes a victim of cruelty, she becomes pregnant. The child was born dead. Then after marriage, the husband left the maternal house after 4 days. The rape happened again and gave birth to a child who later died. Then at the age of 28, she got married to a person from another city. A son was born. She too divorced in 2010. There are many people who want to scrape her out of life, but the scorching wound is not allowing her to live peacefully even after becoming a grandmother. In the past, when the woman who went through this pain reached the court. The canker was so deep, so severe that she cried out in the courtroom. Bifury on the lawyers and the accused present in the court and said, why are you still calling me to court again and again? It’s been 30 years now I’m a grandmother, leave me alone..
These words of Santosh Gupta, who made everyone aware of the stigma saga of this case, narrate the pain and suffering of the daughters of Ajmer when he says – a lot happened – Draupadi’s rip-off…now, wake up God. Wake up now Shri Krishna
