The country’s Minister of Islamic Affairs made an announcement on social media directing the mosques to warn people against associating with them during the Friday sermon.

Once again this discussion got heated from Saudi Arabia when it has been said in the order issued by the government that from now onwards there is no need for people to meet Tablighi Jamaat during Friday prayers. It is not necessary to have any kind of contact with them. It further states that this organization is dangerous for the society and has the potential to open the doors of terrorism in the country. Not only this, an appeal has been made by the Saudi government from mosques to make people aware about Tablighi. People have been asked to explain why and how Tablighi Jamaat is a threat to the society. The government believes that the wrong deeds of Tablighi Jamaat should be brought to the people. People should be constantly informed about this.

In such a situation, the question arises that when Islam came to India from the Gulf countries of Arabia, what did the Tablighi Jamaat reach to collect Arabs from India? If it is part of Islam then why did it come into existence only about 100 years ago? The answer to this question is hardly available at present, yes, if one goes back a hundred, then the whole matter will be understood.

In fact, the work of purification had started with the advent of Arya Samaj and the time of Maharishi Dayanand ji. That is, the doors of the return of Christians and Muslims to Sanatan Dharma were opened again. But on 11 February 1923, while establishing the Indian Shuddhi Sabha, a big campaign was started in this India by the leader of Arya Samaj Swami Shradanand. It was started from Punjab, in which the first castes considered low and backward like Megh, Od and Rahatiya were purified. After this, Malkane near Agra and Mathura was the residence of Rajputs whose ancestors had converted to Islam a half century earlier. However, the customs of the Malkans were mostly Hindu and Chauhans, Rathors etc. were known as gotras. Very soon, about 30 thousand malkans were purified and returned home. As soon as the news was published in the newspapers, there also started returning home in lakhs on a large scale in Lahore, Peshawar which was then a part of India.

Now there was a stampede against this movement among the Muslims. Jamayat-ul-Ulema met in Bombay on March 18, 1923 and passed a resolution condemning Swami Shraddhanand and Shuddhi movement. But in between Swami Shraddhanand ji found a book ‘Dai-Islam’ written by Khwaja Hasan Nizami. This book was secretly made available to Muslims only. In this book an appeal was made to the Muslims to convert Hindus into Muslims in every good and bad way. By going to the homes of Hindus and selling bangles to women, prostitutes were asked to propagate Islam among the customers, by cutting hair by barbers and converting them to Muslims. In particular, 6 crore Dalits were asked to become Muslims so that Muslims would be equal to Hindus in population and political rights could be demanded more from them. Swami Shraddhanand ji was blown away after reading all this. Now Swamiji Nizami’s book was translated and named as “Hindus beware, your fort of religion has been raided in secret in the night. Then while answering this book, published a book in the name of “Alarm Bell means Danger of Danger”.

However, by 1925, the Shuddhi movement turned into a spark from a spark. The Muslims were angry because their numbers were dwindling. Adding more ghee to this fire, on 29 May 1925, Gandhiji also made several allegations against Swami Shraddhanand ji in an article titled ‘Hindu Muslim-Stress: Causes and Redressal’ in an issue of Young India. On the other hand, the Muslims were now left with only one option and that was that every Muslim should be explained from house to house. They should be lured to the glory of heaven and scared by the fire of hell. Hindu dress should be done away with customs. Due to this, the foundation of the Jamaat was laid in the year 1926. Named “Tablighi Jamaat” Tablighi means Quran, to convey Hadith to others and Jamaat means group.

Now as soon as the group was formed, its result also came to the fore and on 23 December 1926, a Jamaati named Abdul Rashid shot and killed Swami Shraddhanand. It is said that Gandhiji did not criticize this bigotry of Muslims nor exposed their faults. Due to this, the morale of the fundamentalist-minded Tablighi Muslims increased and the attack did not stop here, after this the attack of Arya Samaj leader Mahashay Rajpal ji on 6th April, 1929, he was also assassinated in Lahore.

After this, the Tablighi continued to move forward, even after the name of Tablighi Jamaat has reached from house to house, very few people know about its work and purpose. On asking, big scholars and leaders also start looking side by side, because its purpose is very clear – to make Muslims strong Muslims, to make everything Islamic, food, lifestyle, dress, beliefs, language, etc.

Shankar Sharan ji has written on this that authentic information is available from the famous scholar Maulana Waheeduddin Khan’s book ‘Tablighi Movement’. Maulana Ilyas, the founder of this Jamaat, used to take great pride in seeing that the Muslims around Delhi had Hindu tinge in many things even after centuries. They didn’t eat beef, didn’t marry my cousins, wore kundal, kada, braided. Even they used to keep their names like Hindus. Hindus celebrated festivals and some did not even know how to read Kalma. That is, Muslims were half Hindu in their traditions. Angered by this, Maulana Ilyas decided to convert Muslims into staunch Muslims.

Its center was made in Nizamuddin, Delhi. The Tablighi agenda gained strength from the active support of the Khilafat movement by Mahatma Gandhi. Apart from this, Maulana Ilyas got a big benefit from the Khilafat movement. Taking advantage of the passion it generated, he made it easier to bridge the gap between true Islam and ordinary Muslims, and to isolate them from Hindu society.

Ilyas was followed by his son Muhammad Yusuf who traveled all over India and abroad. Due to this effect, Tablighi Muslims from Arab and other countries also started coming to Nizamuddin. At the time of Corona, many clerics from countries like Malaysia, Indonesia etc. had met from its Markaz ie headquarters.

Although Maulana Yusuf had said in Rawalpindi three days before his death, ‘Ummat was established by making great sacrifices of his family, party, nation, country, language, etc. Remember, ‘my country’, ‘my region’, ‘my people’, etc., all lead to the breaking of unity. All this is rejected by Allah. The collectivity of Islam must remain supreme over the nation and other groups.

Today, even though some people consider Tablighi Jamaat to be peaceful, but do not test what is being promoted? Peaceful propaganda and Jihad are two sides of the same coin. It is decided by looking at the place, time and comparative position of the infidels. The work of the Jamaat is ‘peaceful’, but this peace is to wait for the opportune time, as they do not have that much political and numerical strength yet. The day they will go around the power, the situation of Taliban may not happen. Not us, but Saudi Arabia understood that the only propaganda of peaceful terror is Tablighi Jamaat, that is why it banned it in Arabia.
